CPIC Governance Sub-Committee

The establishment of the CPIC Governance Sub-Committee was approved during a CPIC Advisory Committee meeting on November 16, 2004. The CPIC Advisory Committee requires this sub-committee to ensure regular review and recommend changes of the CPIC Advisory Committee and its sub-committees’ charters.

Mandate and Responsibilities

The CPIC Governance Sub-Committee is a sub-committee under the direction of the CPIC Advisory Committee. It is responsible for planning, review and assessment of the evolutionary changes to the CPIC Advisory Committee and its sub-committees within the context of their stated roles and responsibilities identified within their charters.

Scope

The CPIC Governance Sub-committee:

  • Examines and determines changes in the Charters of the CPIC Advisory Committee and its sub-committees;
  • Examines and determines the membership of the CPIC Advisory Committee and its sub-committees to ensure that law enforcement/criminal justice agencies have open and fair access to the governance process;
  • Examines and determines the compliance of the CPIC secretariat in achieving its stated mandate;
  • Examines and determines the compliance of the CPIC Advisory Committee’s sub-committees in achieving their stated mandate.
